Ashlee Simpson was ambushed with questions about her sister Jessica Simpson‘s relationship during a night out this week.

The 40-year-old singer was spotted out for dinner with husband Evan Ross on Monday night (November 11) at Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calif.

While heading into the restaurant, TMZ caught up with Ashlee and asked her to confirm the status of Jessica‘s marriage to Eric Johnson amid rumors that they’re heading to divorce.

“Is it true? Do you know?” they asked. Ashlee simply replied, “No.” It’s unclear if she’s saying the rumors aren’t true or if she doesn’t know.

Rumors have been swirling about Jessica‘s marriage due to a cryptic Instagram caption she wrote that day.

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤,” she said.
