Eric Dane is going to be bringing his real-life diagnosis to life on television.
The 52-year-old actor will appear on NBC‘s Brilliant Minds, playing a character with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Eric previously revealed he was diagnosed with the nervous system disorder, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, earlier this year.
There is sadly no cure at this time for the disease.
Eric will appear in Episode 9 of the current Season 2 of the series, playing Matthew, described as “a heroic firefighter who is struggling with sharing his ALS diagnosis with his family,” per TVLine.
That episode is expected to arrive in November.
In the series, Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a gifted neurologist, applies his unconventional approach to treating puzzling psychological cases.
