New mom Carly Rae Jepsen may just be the biggest Heated Rivalry fan ever!
If you didn’t see the exciting news, the 40-year-old “Call Me Maybe” singer welcomed her first child with husband Cole M.G.N. (Cole Marsden Greif-Neill) earlier this year.
Carly has kept her baby’s sex and name a secret until now, revealing in a new interview The Hollywood Reporter that she and Cole welcomed a son, and named him after a character on Heated Rivalry.
“It was an incredible show,” Carly said of the Crave queer hockey drama series. “Ilya is the name of my son. Maybe, not maybe because of that show.”
Ilya Rosanov is the name of the character Connor Storrie plays in the series.
If you didn’t know, Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney previously shared that he really wanted to reach out to Carly to write a song for season one, but didn’t due to budgetary restrictions. Fans are still hoping that Carly works on a song for season two, which is currently in production, but nothing official has been announced yet.
In other exciting news, Carly Rae Jepsen and Lena Dunham are turning the 1999 rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You into a Broadway musical! The two have teamed up to adapt the Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger-led movie for the stage.
